The brand

Alietto is a creative house dedicated to silk squares.

The brand develops a singular universe, rooted in a visual culture and a Mediterranean imagination, with particular attention paid to composition, material, and color.

Led by an independent creator with a background in image-making, graphic design, and visual arts, Alietto develops its creations through engraving, analog photography, and drawing. These mediums are at the origin of each motif, before taking shape on silk.

This manual approach gives each creation its unique character.

Alietto was born from the desire to create textile objects at the intersection of art and craftsmanship. Pieces conceived as objects of silk, to be worn or framed.

The motif as a starting point

The motif always comes first.

Drawing is central, created by hand using various techniques: linocut, carborundum, fine pen, pigments, analog photography.

Clear forms—sometimes architectural, sometimes organic—are composed within a precise balance before being transposed onto silk.
This manual work gives each creation a distinct identity.

Designed for the square format, the motif constructs a space.
A frame that demands rigor while allowing freedom.
It may play with symmetry, create illusions, or settle into a more stable composition.

It is within this format that the drawing takes shape, existing beyond paper.

The image becomes movement

Once printed on silk, the motif is no longer fixed. It evolves through contact with the body, the fold, the gesture.

The same drawing may appear differently depending on how it is tied, folded, or worn. What seemed symmetrical becomes fragment. What appeared abstract may become figurative.

Alietto scarves are not worn in a single way.
They are objects of silk, to be freely appropriated, worn, reinterpreted, or contemplated.

A Mediterranean presence

Alietto’s universe is rooted in a deep attachment to the Mediterranean.

At the origin of each creation are fragments of matter: forms, surfaces marked by time, vestiges, textures, a certain light.
Elements observed, interpreted, then reworked and recomposed through drawing.

Alietto does not seek to represent the Mediterranean as a place, but to translate a sensation.
A direct relationship to material, patina, alteration, and traces present in every motif.

It is this approach, founded on material, drawing, and object, that gives Alietto its singular character.

An antique bust, a barely visible lily, fragments lost in vegetation.

La Nuit is a second edition exploring a deeper Mediterranean. Forms double, the drawing is built through chiaroscuro, shaped by engraving, photography, and drawing. Foliage, damp stones, a saline air emerge, but nothing is certain.

The whole reads like a nocturnal crossing, at the water’s edge.
A suspended moment. A sense of mystery.
